How do you make people want to (re)discover Benin, city after city, with the breath of cinema? With "Si Beau Mon Pays", a tourism documentary series shot in 4K in the country's historic cities, OBA PROD Consulting designed, directed and distributed an entire collection, from idea to screen.
The concept: heritage as story
Rather than a catalogue of places, we wanted embodied stories. Each roughly 26-minute episode explores a city and its cultural riches at the level of its people: traditions, memory, landscapes and craftsmanship. The through-line, one conviction: Benin has a beauty worth telling.
A shoot on a national scale
From the lake city of Sô-Ava and the Toffin people, to the beaches of Grand-Popo at the mouth of the Mono, through the history of Porto-Novo and the gateway to Ganvié at Abomey-Calavi, the series required mobile logistics: shooting on the water by pirogue, in markets, on heritage sites. Filming on the water demands meticulous preparation and a crew able to adapt to every location.
The full chain, from concept to distribution
"Si Beau Mon Pays" shows our ability to carry a production end to end: writing and concept, 4K shooting, editing, grading and finishing, then distribution. Producing a collection is not repeating an episode: it is holding an editorial line and a consistent quality across a whole series.
What this project demonstrates
A tourism documentary series requires cultural sensitivity, production rigour and real technical mastery all at once. That is exactly what we bring to institutions, tourism players and organisations that want to showcase a territory or a cause.
