The corporate documentary is a powerful format: it tells a true story, with the breath of cinema and the rigour of journalism. But its success owes less to equipment than to method. Here are the seven steps we follow on every project.
1. Frame the intent
First, one question: why this film, and for whom? A recruitment, funder or company-memory documentary is not told the same way. We set the objective and the audience before writing a single line.
2. Investigate
The real material of a documentary is facts and voices. We identify the right contributors, gather the elements and listen before filming.
3. Write a structure
A documentary is not mere coverage. It has structure, tension, a thread. We write a narrative outline that guides the shoot without smothering reality.
4. Scout
Light, sound, access, permits: scouting avoids nasty surprises and saves precious time on the day.
5. Shoot
Careful interviews, cutaway footage, clean sound. We film to a high standard, but with the attentiveness needed to catch the right moments.
6. Edit
The film is born in the edit. We build the rhythm, set priorities, add finish. Grading and mixing give the final texture.
7. Release
A film that stays on a hard drive serves no one. We plan formats and versions for each channel, from the big screen to social media.
This is the method we bring to every project. Explore our services or our work, and if your project is ready, let’s talk.
