First challenge: setting up the nursery
From Grand-Popo to Sèmè-Podji, by way of Comè, Tori Aliho and Allada, the OBA PROD CONSULTING team and the competition jury went out to meet the 15 candidates on the starting line.
And what we found on the ground was extraordinary.
Passionate market gardeners who do not grow simply to eat. They grow to create wealth, to innovate, to prove it is possible despite the nature of the soil. These are not peasants. They are entrepreneurs.
Among them, four exceptional women stand out. In a field still largely dominated by men, they command respect through their professionalism, their technical mastery and their remarkable capacity for innovation.
Nothing seems to intimidate them: neither the demands of the trade, nor prejudice, nor the difficulties of the terrain. Their determination, courage and know-how earn respect and show that modern Beninese agriculture is written in the feminine too.
This first challenge revealed a range of nursery-setup techniques. Inspiring journeys, promising farms and a new generation of farmers who believe in their potential.
Agro Champion , The Challenge is far more than a competition. It is a human adventure, a school of excellence and a showcase of Benin's agricultural drive.
